Biography
Linda Graff has been in the business of not-for-profit management
since 1980. She has delivered workshops, presentations, and plenary
and keynote addresses to tens of thousands of participants over the
last twenty years throughout North America and into Europe. Linda
is a dynamic and challenging speaker who mixes humour and informality
with innovative thinking and empowering concepts. She is an extremely
popular presenter who is considered one of Canada's foremost authorities
on volunteerism. Linda has written seven books and countless articles
in the field of volunteer program management. By Definition, her manual
on policy writing for volunteer services is a best seller throughout
North America, and Linda's new book on screening, called Beyond Police
Checks, has received international acclaim as the essential source
book on this high stakes topic. Linda currently focuses her workshop
presentations in the "tough" areas of policy development,
risk management, screening, and discipline and dismissal. Two AudioWorkshops™
- one 95 minute tape on policy development and one 95 minute tape
on discipline and dismissal of volunteers - have been produced to
translate Linda's dynamic workshop presentations into a more widely
accessible format.
Ms. Graff received undergraduate and graduate degrees from McMaster University. In 1989, after nearly ten years as the Director of the Volunteer Centre in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Linda established her management consulting firm, GRAFF AND ASSOCIATES, located in Dundas, Ontario. Along with her associates, she works exclusively with charitable agencies and not-for-profit organizations. She currently divides her time among research, writing, and consulting projects, and the delivery of workshops throughout North America and Europe.
