Serves Southern Alberta - Managers of Volunteer Resources (MVR) is the professional association in Southern Alberta dedicated to promoting high standards of competence in the management of volunteer resources. MVR is committed to building competency through educational and peer support opportunities. Meetings are scheduled monthly from January to December on the third Thursday of the month (except Dec, Jul, and Aug). Education sessions include topics pertaining to volunteer management and non profit organizational management. MVR hosts an annual one day workshop featuring well known and respected speakers in the field.

The Association of Directors of Volunteer Resources (ADVR) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada works towards achieving excellence and professionalism in Volunteer Management. The website hosts a job bank and information on membership and professional development topics and workshops. ADVR partners with Volunteer Calgary, one of Canada's largest Volunteer Centres.
