2011 marks 10 years since the United Nations named 2001 the International Year of Volunteers (IYV). To commemorate the anniversary -- and to use the opportunity on behalf of volunteering -- 2011 is being called IYV+10 and quite a bit of activity is being planned around the world, led by UN Volunteers. IIn addition, 2011 has been designated as the European Year of Volunteering -- with some interesting plans for all the countries in the European Commission, including a traveling exhibit about volunteering. There are two informative Web sites:
