Serves Summit, Stark, and Medina Counties - DOVIA - Greater Akron Area.
DOVIA meets the fourth Monday of each month (adjusted for holidays) from 11:30 am—1:00 pm except July, August, and December. Luncheon site rotates among agency members—$8.50 with reservation or $10.00 at the door. Featured topics/speakers for 2007-2008 include: Motivating Volunteers—What Makes Them Come Back?; Why Men Volunteer—Attracting Male Volunteers; and Opportunities for Corporate Volunteers. DOVIA utilizes guest presentors as well as table topic discussions and networking opportunities. A full scholarship to the State Conference is paid each year to a selected member.
