Brief Excerpt

Tip 58: Right Under Your Nose

Many times our best potential volunteer is right in front of us. They are almost too close for us to see. I am talking about your hairdresser, barber, bank teller, car wash cashier, supermarket checker. Yes, the people you see everyday are all potential volunteers and we fail to see them as such. So, carry a stack of brochures and business cards, and be prepared to discuss your opportunities with these friends. You will be surprised as these people tell you that they have been thinking about volunteering and that they didn’t even know your organization was right down the street.
