Volunteer Operations Coordinator

The Public Programs Volunteer Operations Coordinator serves as the primary contact for PP volunteers. The PPVOC is responsible for providing volunteers with a positive and rewarding experience, and ensuring that volunteers provide Academy guests with quality engagements and activities that inspire and educate. Public Programs volunteers include docents, special event volunteers, early childhood volunteers, Naturalist Center volunteers, and other programs that may be developed in the future. This position works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and other departments to develop and coordinate a variety of volunteer activities on the public floor, in the Naturalist Center, and behind the scenes with Public Programs staff.

Volunteer Services Associate

Longwood Gardens is seeking a part time Volunteer Services Associate to collaborate with the Volunteer Services Manager in carrying out the daily operations of our robust 700-member volunteer program. This individual will be responsible for the recruitment, interviewing and placement of volunteers; coordinating and organizing meetings; supporting recruitment and on-boarding initiatives including Meet and Greet sessions and communication with applicants; and performing a variety of administrative tasks related to maintaining the volunteer program.


This position requires an Associate’s degree and strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, experience with Web site development or management is a plus. The position requires a positive, professional attitude toward guests, staff and volunteers with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple activities and to interact and communicate with a diverse audience at all levels. The successful applicant will be detail oriented with exceptional ability for follow-through, be self-motivated and directed with strong planning and organizing skills, and possess strong critical thinking and problem resolution skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours both indoors and outdoors including occasional evenings/weekends and have the ability to climb stairs and walk about our facility.

JoyRide Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in Magnolia, TX is looking for a motivated individual who loves horses and people. We need a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team! The ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly organized, and have the desire to work with a special needs population. Experience with or the ability to learn Salesforce, and experience with Excel and Word are required. Proficiency with horses strongly preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers for all program needs, including daily lessons. Volunteer Management Intern

Position Summary:
The Volunteer Management Intern will work with the Phoenix Zoo’s Volunteer Management Team (VMT) to oversee the recruitment and facilitation of volunteers for multiple spring events. In addition, the intern in this position will learn all aspects involved in the administration of a large nonprofit volunteer program, including recruitment, applicant screening, interviewing, training, evaluating, and engagement of core volunteers.

Time Commitment:
1. Minimum 28 hours/week for 3 – 6 months.
2. Flexible scheduling available during operational hours (Mon-Sun; 7:00am-5:00pm).
3. Occasional evenings and weekends as required by related business needs.

1. Recruit, assign, and track event volunteer service.
2. Contact point for communications with event volunteers and corporate volunteer partners.
3. Coordinate volunteer hospitality suite during scheduled events; ensure event needs are met through appropriate allocation of available volunteer resources.
4. Create and maintain data files contained in an electronic volunteer database management system; prepare timely and accurate internal reports.
5. Assist with daily administration of programs, including answering phones, responding to emails, collaborating with interdepartmental partners, disseminating appropriate Zoo updates, maintenance of office space, and ongoing recognition of volunteer efforts.

Volunteer Services is the department within the Red Cross that seeks to assist all employees to effectively train, enable, use, and work with volunteers to accomplish the Red Cross mission, to recruit volunteers and work with staff to retain volunteer workforce, and to support all volunteers through their volunteer life cycle and beyond.

Volunteer Coordination Intern

This internship supports the Presidio Trust Volunteer Program under the direction of the Presidio Trust Volunteer & Internship Program Manager. Through its Volunteer Program, the Presidio Trust engages thousands of volunteers each year in a variety of opportunities to support the Presidio. Working as part of a team, the intern will assist with all aspects of volunteer engagement.

Start Date: Late March or early April
Length of Position: 10 months, ends January 2017
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Tuesday - Saturday schedule. Some evenings and occasional Sundays and holidays.
Stipend: $300 every two weeks; Free housing; Transportation benefit.
